As the title says Will (that’s me) ranks the MCU movies. I’m doing this ranking in anticipation for Avengers: Infinity War. I love the MCU and I love the movies but some of them are certainly better than others. I don’t dislike any of the movies. They are all watchable so just because a movie is 18th on the list that doesn’t mean I think it’s shit, it’s just my least favorite. Making this list wasn’t easy for me. I felt like a dad trying to pick there favorite kid. I assume that’s hard task for most fathers unless your mine cause he’d pick my sister.
1. Thor: Ragnarok
fucking loved this movie, everything about it I loved it. Don’t believe me read my review.
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
This is easily my most watched MCU movie. For a good month I would put this movie on every night before bed. There is so much good action in this movie like the Nick Fury scene in the beginning, I love it. Cap jumping out of an airplane without a chute. There’s even some great humor in The Winter Soldier. What’s not to love?
3. The Avengers
Come on this was the moment everyone was waiting for The Avengers on the
fucking big screen.
4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The Guardians are my absolute favorite team ensemble. I love their chemistry and I love them. Volume 2 has more replay value than the first one for me. Love the soundtrack, love the story. I laughed and I cried with this one. Found my review here.
5. Captain America: Civil War
The airport scene is all I need to say.
6. Iron Man 3
I feel like I’m the only one that likes this movie maybe it’s because I’m a bit biased towards Shane Black but I love Iron Man 3. This movie shows us Tony is human and that he is a hero in and out of the suit. I love his interactions with the little kid. Lots of great humor and this movie technically counts as a Christmas movie.
7. Guardians of the Galaxy
I’m hooked on a feeling.
8. Iron Man
The one that started it all and still holds up.
9. Spider-Man Homecoming
Spider-man finally came home. Probably my favorite Spider-man film. Here’s my review. Let’s not forget this was also the return of Happy Hogan to the MCU.
10. Black Panther
Killmonger is the best villain in a Marvel movie, enough said. But I’ll say more. Not only is Black Panther a well crafted origin story but it adds some much needed diversity to the MCU, whether we’re talking women or people of color. Read my review here.
Paul Rudd, a six pack, Michael Pena and some great jokes. Baskin Robins always finds out.
12. Doctor Strange
“Forget everything you think you know.” The first introduction of magic to the MCU. Benedict Cumberbatch is fantastic and so are the visuals in Doctor Strange.
13. The Avengers: Age of Ultron
A fun romp with a little too much world building. The introduction of the Vision, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. James Spader’s voice is a great actor and Cap almost lifts mjolnir.
A fish out of water story.
15. Captain America: The First Avenger
My favorite World War 2 movie. Still waiting on the return of Red Skull.
16. The Incredible Hulk
I just rewatched this one and I actually like it a lot but I just prefer Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. This movie would be up higher if the loose ends didn’t keep me sleepless at night. Where’s the Leader? What happened to Betty? Where’s the Abomination? I dig the look of the Hulk in this one though not his hair though.
17. Thor: The Dark World
Loki’s good then he’s bad then he’s good then he dies then he’s bad and Odin. Our first introduction to Kronans aka Korg from Ragnarok’s people.
18. Iron Man 2
Don Cheadle is a much better Rhodey. I like Justin Hammer and apparently Peter Parker is in this movie. Get this man a bird.
There you have it my ranking of the MCU movies. I plan to update this as more movies come out. I have high hopes for Infinity War. I’m expecting it to fit in the top 5.
Here’s a bonus, the very incredible Avengers: Infinity War trailer:
