2017 is finally over and what a year it was for film. I really liked a lot of movies this year and I didn’t even come close to seeing everything I wanted to see. My list was originally 16 but I managed to whittle it down to 10, which wasn’t easy. Without further adieu here is my top ten favorite movies of 2017.
Seven young outcasts in Derry, Maine, are about to face their worst nightmare — an ancient, shape-shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey on the town’s children. Banding together over the course of one horrifying summer, the friends must overcome their own personal fears to battle the murderous, bloodthirsty clown known as Pennywise. – New Line Cinema
Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil. – Columbia Pictures
I didn’t see a movie this weekend. I was going pretty strong, I was probably on a two month streak of one movie a week. Nothing really caught my eye this week and unfortunately I don’t get paid for this and movies aren’t cheap. So instead of writing a movie review, here is a list of my most anticipated movies coming out this summer. The films will be listed in order of release.
