I ended 2018 having seen 59 films in theaters for the year—sometimes I suck and write some notes on my phone and then forget about them. On top of my laziness this latter part of the year has been jammed packed with movies—its been hard to keep up. So, here is a quick round-up of my thoughts on some movies I haven’t gotten around to doing proper reviews. This is part 1 of 2.
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover. – 20th Century Fox
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment. – Marvel Studios
The moment I’ve been waiting 10 years for has finally come. I just saw Avengers: Infinity War for the first time and am currently waiting to see it again in about an hour. This movie is easily my most anticipated film of all time. I plan to do a full review once I compose myself and digest this behemoth of a film. In the meantime here’s my initial thoughts:
Wow, that was everything I wanted and more. It was action pack, funny and emotional. Twist and turns a plenty and a lot of surprises. The Avengers were broken up into separate teams for the majority of the movie and the chemistry between everyone was unparalleled. My only complaints are that it’s over and some characters I expected were absent. This is a great film in general but an astounding superhero film. The MCU’s magnum opus.
10 out of 10, going to watch again.
